Are you in the process of cleaning up your yard now that spring is here? If you have a lot of trees, then there is a good chance that a lot of tree branches have fallen on the ground. Branches that have fallen to the ground are perfect to use for making natural branch coasters.
The thickness of a tree branch will be really important to make natural branch coasters. Branches should also be from a healthy tree and not be dead. You will need a hand saw or a power saw to cut the branches to the required size. Cut a few 1/2-inch slices from branches that are at least 3 inches thick.
Once you have the branches for your natural branch coasters cut, then you will need to seal them. This is done using a product like a clear varnish or maybe a polyurethane. Just wait for them to dry and they will be ready to use. Instructions to make your own natural branch coasters are on gardentherapy.ca here...
